OVERVIEW:
The CADXA Activities-on-the-Air (AOTA) Awards Program is an annual member-only competition program, allowing participants to win various operating awards in different challenges,
COMPETITION CHALLENGES:
1. HF DX Challenge
All Amateur bands from 160m – 10m including WARC and 60m
Annual total of DXCC entities worked on each band (sum of all the band totals)
All modes combined (Only once regardless of mode)
2. HF Zone Challenge
All Amateur bands from 160m – 10m including WARC and 60m
Annual total of CQ Zones worked on each band (sum of all the band totals)
All modes combined
3. CADXA HF Marathon
All Amateur bands from 160m – 10m including WARC and 60m
Annual total of -
DXCC entities worked, PLUS
CQ Zones worked
All modes combined
4. DXpedition Challenge
All Amateur bands from 160m – 10m including WARC and 60m, plus VHF and UHF bands*
Annual total of DXpeditions selected by the AOTA Committee Chair
Work each DXpedition on as many bands and modes as you can
In 2025, the AOTA chairman will be using DXpeditions listed by Club Log or DXpedition Trophy
plus any major DXpeditions not listed.
* QSOs using repeaters, including repeaters on satellites do not count for this challenge.
5. Six Meter Challenge

The Thomas L. Kramer, NQ7R, Memorial Plaque is awarded annually to the participant(s) who has (have) the highest combined score for all challenges in all power levels. In the event of a tie score, the tie-breaker will be the higher score in the 6M Challenge. In the event of a second tied score, then the second tie-breaker will be the higher QRP score. In the event the second tie-breaker does not break the tie, then the tied stations will each receive the Thomas L. Kramer, NQ7R, Memorial Plaque for that Challenge Year.
COMPETITION Station Definitions:
CADXA members who live in Arizona can use remote stations that are not their personal stations, but only contacts made with remote stations located in Arizona will count toward CADXA AOTA awards. Members who have FCC addresses and stations outside Arizona can only use such remote stations that are in their state. Members who live outside of the United States, can only use remote stations located in their country. Personal stations can be operated remotely or locally.
COMPETITION Power Level Overlays:
High Power: This overlay is intended for those using stations running more than 100 watts up to the FCC legal power limit for each band.
Low Power: This overlay is intended for those using stations running more than 5 watts up to 100 watts.
QRP: This overlay is intended for those using stations running up to 5 watts.

Participating in the CADXA Activities on the Air (AOTA) Program
To participate in the CADXA Activities on the Air (AOTA) program, fill out the spreadsheet for each challenge in which you want to participate and submit them to N6RW via email. Please do not send paper copies through the US Postal Service. The spreadsheets will be available via email and on the CADXA.org website under the AOTA tab.
The up-to-date summary of results will be shown at the monthly club meeting and posted on the CADXA website.
